The Dog Saving Network (DSN) is a positive reinforcement based training organization and is committed to raising awareness and finding solutions to the problems faced daily by unwanted dogs in our country. Though there are no easy answers, “Life’s Ruff” is our own creative, entertaining and educational approach to improve the lives of dogs. “Life’s Ruff” is an actual game show and showcases our dogs, most of which were formerly homeless and have been trained to perform fun tricks through positive reinforcement training. With the show, we hope to inspire others to action and continue promoting the cycle of positive reinforcement training for our canine companions. We hope to show people what a homeless dog “can” do as opposed to focusing on what they “can’t” do. Our message is empowering and uplifting, an effective combination.
The Dog Saving Network was created to help reduce the number of healthy dogs lost due to euthanasia every year. We understand that there are many great groups working towards this goal but we wanted to take a different approach to getting the important messages of the importance spaying/neutering and adoptions out to our audience. We do that by training dogs and people to perform with their dogs in live stage shows, videos and someday television. Every show or video that we create is made possible by the power of positive reinforcement training and we feel that every dog in our organization is an ambassador for homeless animals and a poster dog for positive reinforcement training. Our goal is that every one of our productions has the elements of entertainment, education, inspiration and an action message.
Using our stage show, we plan to continue our quest to improve the plight of homeless dogs through our unique messaging strategy. We will also continue year-round training with partner rescues and with our training group, Show Dog U. The combination of positive reinforcement training taught by professionals, and the implementation of our messaging strategy through fun shows and videos, will help raise awareness and result in making people better dog owners and change perceptions regarding certain breeds. Future plans include new and new and different fun, live performances, a ton of videos, a television show and an extremely unique shelter concept.
